This Privacy Policy explains how CV Road (Pty) Ltd (Reg. No. 2023/858177/07), trading as Renstaff (“we”, “us”), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). It applies to candidates, dealership clients, website users, suppliers, and any person whose information we process.

  • Identification & contact: name, ID/passport, phone, email, address.
  • Career data (candidates): CV, qualifications, trade tests/certifications, work history, references, salary expectations, availability.
  • Screening (with consent): reference checks, professional membership verification, criminal/credit checks where lawful and role-relevant.
  • Client data (dealerships): contact persons, business details, role requirements, contracts and billing details.
  • Website & device: cookies/analytics, IP address, pages viewed, forms submitted.




3) How we collect information



  • Directly from you (forms, email, WhatsApp, phone, interviews, events).
  • From public/professional sources (e.g., LinkedIn, job boards) where lawful.
  • From referees or screening providers with your consent or where otherwise justified by law.
  • Automatically via our website cookies/analytics (see “Cookies & tracking”).




4) Why we process personal information (purposes)



  • To deliver recruitment services: sourcing, screening, shortlisting and presenting candidates.
  • To perform/administer contracts with clients and suppliers (once-off placement model and related services).
  • To verify qualifications, experience and references (appropriate and lawful for the role).
  • To manage queries, support, billing, and compliance requirements.
  • To improve and secure our website/services and for analytics and reporting.
  • With consent, to send relevant opportunities or updates (opt out any time).




5) Lawful grounds under POPIA



  • Your consent (e.g., to submit a CV, conduct checks, receive marketing).
  • Contractual necessity (to provide recruitment/placement services).
  • Legal obligation (e.g., tax/statutory recordkeeping).
  • Legitimate interests of you/us/third parties, balanced with your rights.




6) Special personal information



We avoid processing special personal information (e.g., health, biometrics, religious or political beliefs) unless strictly necessary, lawful, and justified under POPIA. Please don’t include such details in your CV unless they are relevant and requested lawfully.





7) Sharing & disclosures



  • Dealership clients for role consideration (with your knowledge/consent).
  • Screening/verification providers where lawful and proportionate.
  • Service providers (hosting, email, analytics) under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Regulators or law enforcement where required by law or to protect rights.

We do not sell personal information.





8) Cross-border transfers



If we transfer personal information outside South Africa, we will use safeguards permitted by POPIA (e.g., adequate protection laws, contractual clauses, or your consent).





9) Retention



We keep personal information only as long as necessary for recruitment and legal/compliance purposes. Candidate profiles may be retained to match you to future roles; you may request deletion or suppression unless we must retain records by law.





10) Security



We use reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational measures (e.g., access controls, encryption where appropriate, least-privilege practices) to protect personal information. If a material data breach occurs, we will notify you and the Information Regulator where required by POPIA.





11) Your rights



  • Request access to your personal information and processing details.
  • Request correction, update, or deletion (where legally permissible).
  • Object to or restrict processing, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent (we’ll cease processing where consent was the only ground).
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za.

12) Direct marketing



We may send motor-industry opportunities or updates if you are an existing client/candidate or have consented. You can opt out at any time via the link in our messages or by emailing Privacy@cvroad.co.za.

Our website uses necessary cookies for functionality and may use analytics cookies to improve performance (e.g., pages visited, time on site). You can manage cookies in your browser. Disabling some cookies may affect site features.





14) Recruitment-specific notes



  • We rely on information provided by candidates and referees and take reasonable steps to verify key role-relevant details.
  • Clients should not rely solely on candidate-provided information before making employment decisions; where screening is required, we will explain checks and obtain any necessary consent.
  • We conduct processing fairly, lawfully and in a manner that respects your privacy.




15) Children



Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly process children’s personal information without appropriate legal grounds and guardian consent where required.





16) Third-party sites



Our website may link to third-party sites with their own privacy practices. Please review their policies.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be available on this page and will include the “Last updated” date above.
